This is the section where STFax stores the recorded greetings and system messages. STFax ships with a number of records as default, which you can choose to keep or re-record.

You can use any modem to record your greeting messages but remember, if you record your message via one modem you might not be able to play this back via another. If you are using multiple servers and modems, we strongly suggest you use modems of the same type and manufacturer.

The column list shows the file name, the size of the recorded message, the date that it was recorded and any accompanying notes.

The three sub-folders contain these sections:

  1. Greetings  - the greetings section contains the greetings used for when a caller is answered by STFax. An example would be a basic RecordMsg script which contained the greeting "Hello...we are currently unavailable, please call again soon or leave a message after the tone, pressing the hash key for further options".

  2. System  - the system section is the most important. It contains the system messages used by STFax within the voice commands. For instance, if a caller presses a touchtone which doesn't exist, the InvalidInput message would be played which states 'sorry, the phone key you pressed does not support available available feature'.

Note that the system messages cannot be renamed or removed. However a user can re-record these system greetings using their own style or voice.

  3. Custom  - the custom section is where a user should record their custom greeting messages.
